4Cute, Cute, Cute!Apr 22, 2007
By C. E. Pugh
This is the cutest little toy! He wiggles his ear, snores different each time and makes the cutest little noises as he snores (he breathes in and snores, then breathes out and sounds like "wee wee wee wee" and it changes and gets cuter sounding each time). He says something at one point like "a big bucket of slop would taste soooo good" or something like that. He also "breathes" as he snores, meaning his belly rises and falls with his breathing. He is soft and cuddly, unlike many toys of this type. This toy made my friend and I laugh out loud in the store and people were walking by laughing at us. It really can put a smile on your face on the worst day! Not realistic as far as pigs go, but very cute as a toy!

5Friendly entertainmentDec 23, 2007

While shopping for a Christmas gift for my grandfather, my 2 1/2 year old daughter discovered this pig and decided we needed to get it for grandpa rather then the fleece jacket I had picked out. After I had made sure she understood that we would be giving this to grandpa and not taking it home with us I put down the jacket and purchased the pig. My grandfather recently had to go into a nursing home following a hospital stay in order to receive the rehabilitation he will need in order to come home. Needless to say his spirits have been down. When we arrived with Arnold the pig my grandfather perked right up and loved his gift. I told him that my daughter had made me put back a jacket in order to get this pig and he said she had made a great decision. We left him holding onto his pig smiling and thanking us for the amusement we had left with him.

5Fun for children and adults alike!Nov 24, 2007

I bought this to give to my 7 year old son for Christmas, but every adult that I show it to wants to take it! The snoring is so cute and when he talks in his sleep, you can't help but laugh and give a little 'awwwwww'! My 7 year old already found the hiding place little wilbur and has been sneaking in to see him, so I know that he will be a great addition to his 'guys'.

4Creepy, not washable (but my son loves it)Apr 14, 2011

My son (15mos) loves pigs. Points at every pig he sees, constantly tries to find them in books, etc. We bought him this piggy based on another review that it is soft and cuddly but has a button to push to make noises. The leg is supposed to kick, the mouth moves, and an ear shakes. (ala tickle me elmo, hokey pokey elmo, etc.). It is in fact suprisingly cuddly for the amount of noise and movement it makes. It feels as if it is sturdily made (However I wouldn't give it to my dog or trust that it would still be in one piece if I did for very long). The outer portion does not come off/can't take out the battery compartment so washing is a problem (son peed through his diaper and soaked this piggy last night. Handwashed and hung to dry 6 hours ago - still not dry.

I gave it so many stars because my Son loves it. As for the washing, I don't think it is meant to be a kids toy in hindsight. He takes it with him to bed and carries it around with him. I find the sounds it make to be disturbing. The voice is creepy- as is some of the snoring. This is made worse when my son roles over onto the pig in the middle of the night and I wake up to a creepy noise/voice - oddly enough it doesn't wake up him up. I of course turn it off at night now.

My wife wanted to return it and still does. It does have kind of a realistic look to it as opposed to a more cartoony pig you might expect.

I think this is meant to be more like one of those singing/dancing stuffed animals you get at CVS, Hallmark, etc. and on that level I think it is creepy. As a kids toy, I have proof that it is well received.

4Pure joyAug 05, 2009

I bought Arnold from a local vendor about three years ago for myself. I'm an adult stuffed pig collector and at the time of the purchase, I was going through a hard time in my life. Arnold was quick to cheer me and has been one of my favorites. He has brought joy to me and many others.

Unfortunately, his adorable voice and motions don't last forever. :( After three years of varied use and great care, he stopped working. I changed his batteries and my husband cleaned the battery connectors, but nothing worked.

I am very sad about this. I know nothing lasts forever and Gund makes excellent, durable products. Still, I was hoping Arnold would be snoring and talking for many years to come.

I can't see myself buying another one because nothing beats the original.
